The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast hot and dry weather across Sindh province for the next 24 to 48 hours. According to the latest advisory, most districts of Sindh will experience intense heat with temperatures soaring above normal.

Temperature Predictions

The highest temperature is expected in Jacobabad, where the mercury may reach 45 degrees Celsius. Similarly, Sukkur, Larkana, and Dadu are likely to record highs of 44 degrees Celsius. In Karachi, the maximum temperature is predicted to range between 40 and 42 degrees Celsius, with hot winds blowing from the northwest.

Weather Advisory

The PMD has advised the public to avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight, especially during peak hours from 11 am to 4 pm. People are urged to stay hydrated and use umbrellas or hats when going outdoors. Farmers have been cautioned about the impact of dry weather on crops, advising them to manage irrigation carefully.

Meanwhile, the department noted that sea breezes are likely to remain weak, contributing to the heat stress in coastal areas. The dry spell is expected to persist for the next few days, with no significant rainfall predicted for the region.

Authorities have also issued a heatwave alert for vulnerable groups, including the elderly, children, and those with pre-existing health conditions. Emergency services have been put on standby to deal with heat-related incidents.
