LDA Director General Reviews Major Infrastructure Projects in Lahore
In a significant move to oversee urban development, Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General Tahir Farooq conducted a comprehensive review of ongoing infrastructure projects across the city. The inspection focused on critical sites including the Data Darbar expansion scheme and the Bhati Chowk underpass, with officials providing detailed updates on progress and timelines.
Progress Updates on Key Construction Sites
During the visit, authorities reported substantial advancements in the Bhati Chowk underpass project. Specifically, 215 out of 375 piles have been successfully completed, marking a crucial phase in the foundation work. Meanwhile, expansion and finishing activities in front of Data Darbar are proceeding at an accelerated pace, with efforts concentrated on enhancing the area's aesthetic and functional aspects.
Directives for Accelerated Construction and Quality Assurance
DG Tahir Farooq issued clear instructions to expedite construction processes. He directed that excavation work at the Bhati Chowk underpass site commence immediately to avoid delays. Additionally, he ordered an increase in the workforce dedicated to facade upgradation around Data Darbar, emphasizing that this measure is essential for meeting project deadlines without compromising on quality.
Reviewing developments near Lahore Railway Station, the DG noted that parking area finishing is nearing completion and instructed officials to finalize it promptly. He also observed that facade improvement and railway wall beautification are advancing swiftly, contributing to the overall urban renewal efforts in the vicinity.

Further emphasizing the importance of aesthetic upgrades, DG Farooq called for the early completion of beautification work at Do Moria and Ek Moria bridges.
