PTCL appoints Nadeem Khan as CEO after Telenor merger

The board of directors of Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) announced a major leadership transition on Thursday, coinciding with the successful completion of the amalgamation of Telenor Pakistan into Pak Telecom Mobile Limited (PTML), which operates as Ufone 5G. Nadeem Khan, previously the Group Chief Financial Officer of PTCL and Ufone, has been appointed as the CEO of PTCL, effective immediately for a period of 14 days.

Nadeem Khan's Background and Experience

Nadeem Khan is a Chartered Accountant with over two decades of association with the PTCL Group. He joined Ufone as Chief Financial Officer in 2003, a role he held for a decade, before a brief stint on the Board of U Microfinance Bank Limited. In 2017, he was appointed as Group Chief Financial Officer at the PTCL Group, where he oversaw the Group's financial strategy through a period of major transformation, including the acquisition of Telenor Pakistan. He currently serves as a Member of the Accounting Standards Board of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan.

Leadership Transition and Future Roles

Hatem Bamatraf, who served as President and CEO of PTCL & Ufone for the past five years, has stepped down from his role at PTCL to take on the position of CEO of Pak Telecom Mobile Limited (PTML). The leadership transition ensures continuity across both PTCL and PTML as each organization moves into its next phase of growth.
