French Artist Brings Karachi to Life with Stunning Mural
The Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi witnessed a vibrant celebration on Monday as French artist Chifumi's magnificent mural artwork titled "Karachi Blooms" was officially inaugurated. This special event marked the 25th day of the ongoing World Culture Festival 2025, adding an international flavor to the city's cultural landscape.
A Labor of Love and Dedication
The breathtaking mural represents the culmination of ten days of tireless work by the French artist, who poured his creativity and energy into transforming the ACP building into a canvas of beauty. Arts Council President Muhammad Ahmed Shah and artist Chifumi jointly inaugurated the artwork, marking a significant moment in Karachi's art scene.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Muhammad Ahmed Shah expressed his admiration for Chifumi's dedication. "Today we are celebrating this tremendous work by French Artist Chifumi," Shah told media representatives. "Chifumi has worked day and night to create this mural. It is with a very sad heart that we are saying goodbye to Chifumi, but we will invite the French painter again."
A Symbol of Global Unity and Friendship
The Arts Council president emphasized that the media has been actively showcasing the festival's activities across Pakistan and around the world. He revealed ambitious plans to make such artwork visible throughout the city, indicating a new direction for public art in Karachi.
"This mural is open to the people of Karachi and social media influencers," Shah announced enthusiastically. "I invite all of you to come see this mural with your families. This mural is a symbol of global unity, love and friendship."
French artist Chifumi shared his emotional connection with Pakistan, stating: "This was my first time coming to Pakistan, but not the last. I will definitely come to Pakistan again." The artist expressed heartfelt gratitude to Ahmed Shah and the entire Arts Council team for their support and hospitality.
Chifumi voiced his hopeful vision for the future of mural art in Karachi, expressing confidence that after today's inauguration, this art form would flourish throughout the city. His artwork stands not just as a beautiful creation but as a bridge between cultures and a testament to the power of artistic expression.
