A delegation from the Artists Action Foundation, led by renowned artist Arshad Hussain, called on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information and Public Relations Shafi Jan at his office in the Civil Secretariat in Peshawar. The meeting focused on the promotion of art and culture in the province, the Artists Endowment Fund, challenges faced by artists, and their overall welfare.
Delegation Presents Recommendations
The delegation included Tariq Jamal, Noushaba, Zulfiqar, Khalid Khan, and other artists. They presented recommendations aimed at promoting art and culture, improving the economic well-being of artists, and revitalizing cultural activities across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Minister Calls Artists Ambassadors of Culture
Speaking to the delegation, Shafi Jan said that artists are the true ambassadors of any society’s culture, civilization, and positive image. He remarked that artists are the custodians of the nation’s history, heritage, and culture, and their art plays a vital role in transmitting national identity to future generations.
Government Commitment to Resolve Issues
Shafi Jan assured that the provincial government would extend all possible cooperation to resolve the issues faced by the artist community and ensure their welfare. He added that the promotion of art, culture, and literary heritage is among the top priorities of the government, and practical steps will be taken to achieve this goal.
Recommendations to Be Considered
The minister assured the delegation that their recommendations would be seriously considered to ensure practical progress. He further mentioned that a meeting would soon be convened with the Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for Culture and relevant officials to discuss the way forward.

The delegation thanked the KP Information Minister for assuring full cooperation and commitment to resolving their issues. They expressed hope that the government’s initiatives would further boost the art and culture sector in the province.
