Sam Smith Announces Fifth Album Hazel Eyes, Drops My Guy

Sam Smith has officially announced their fifth studio album, Hazel Eyes, and unveiled its lead single, My Guy, marking the singer’s first full-length project since 2023’s Gloria. The Grammy-winning artist revealed that Hazel Eyes will be released on October 16, 2026, describing the record as their most personal work to date.

Album Inspiration and Personal Transformation

According to Smith, the album was inspired by a transformative period in their life after relocating to New York and falling in love, with the title track serving as the emotional centrepiece of the project. Alongside the announcement, Smith released My Guy on June 24, 2026.

Commercial Success and New Direction

Hazel Eyes follows the commercial success of Gloria, which debuted at number one in the UK and produced the global hit Unholy with Kim Petras. The upcoming album is expected to showcase a more stripped-back and emotionally direct sound while continuing Smith’s exploration of personal storytelling. The release of My Guy offers fans their first taste of the new era, with Hazel Eyes set to arrive on October 16, 2026.
