Former Disney Channel star Bridgit Mendler has taken to social media to address the surprise EP that appeared on her Spotify and Apple Music profiles, clarifying that the release was not authorized by her. A six-track EP titled Once Again... was listed as a "new release" on Mendler's streaming pages on Friday, featuring songs such as "Flowers," "Cold," "Mercy," "Long Run," "Loyalties," and "Oxygen." This led some fans to believe the singer had returned to music after a lengthy absence.
Mendler's Statement on X
However, Mendler quickly dismissed the speculation in a statement posted on X on Wednesday. "Sorry to disappoint everyone, the spotify release wasn't me!" she wrote. She further added, "when it is, trust me, you'll know ;)"
Career Shift Away from Entertainment
Mendler has largely stepped away from the entertainment industry in recent years. Her last studio album, Hello My Name Is..., was released in 2012 and featured popular tracks including "Ready or Not" and "Hurricane." Her most recent official music release was the single "Driving" in 2017. The actress first gained prominence through Disney Channel productions including Good Luck Charlie, Wizards of Waverly Place, and the television film Lemonade Mouth.
Focus on Education and Technology
Since leaving acting, Mendler has focused on higher education and technology. She earned degrees from the University of Southern California, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Harvard Law School before co-founding aerospace communications company Northwood Space in 2023. She currently serves as chief executive of the California-based satellite communications startup.
