Harry Styles was notably absent from Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding at Madison Square Garden on July 3, while his fiancée, Zoë Kravitz, attended the ceremony on her own. The couple exchanged vows in New York City, with Kravitz among the guests at the star-studded celebration.
Reason for Styles' Absence
According to PEOPLE, the actress arrived at the venue without Styles, who was reportedly in London for a scheduled concert. Styles was headlining a show at Wembley Stadium on the same day as the wedding, creating a scheduling conflict that prevented him from attending. The singer had reportedly received an invitation to the ceremony.
Historical Context
Styles and Swift briefly dated between late 2012 and early 2013, making his absence a topic of discussion among some fans following the wedding. Kravitz attended wearing a short black mesh dress embellished with gold, silver and black beads, according to PEOPLE. She completed the look with black sunglasses, strappy heels, silver earrings, a black shawl and a small black handbag.
Friendship Between Swift and Kravitz
Her appearance also followed previous speculation regarding her friendship with Swift. PEOPLE reported that sources close to the singer had dismissed rumours that Kravitz had not been invited to the wedding, maintaining that there was no tension between the pair. Swift and Kravitz have been friends for several years. Their friendship developed during the COVID-19 pandemic while they were both living in London.
Speaking to GQ in 2022, Kravitz said Swift had been part of her pandemic "pod." "She was a very important part of being in London, just having a friend that I could see and that would make me home-cooked meals and dinner on my birthday," she said, according to PEOPLE. Swift also praised Kravitz in the same interview, saying the actress has "a very honest inner compass."
