Hollywood Star Faces Serious Allegations

American actor Jeremy Renner has found himself at the center of a legal controversy after Chinese filmmaker Yi Zhou accused him of sending inappropriate content and making threats. The Marvel star has vehemently denied all allegations through his legal representation.

Conflicting Accounts Emerge

According to Zhou's claims, the incident began in June when Renner allegedly sent her "unwanted and unsolicited pornographic images" through direct messages and WhatsApp. She further stated that when she confronted the actor about these messages, he became hostile and threatened to contact ICE (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement).

However, Renner's attorney, Marty Singer, presented a completely different version of events in his statement to People magazine on Friday, November 7. Singer described Zhou's allegations as "false, outrageous and highly defamatory" and claimed they were fabricated after Renner rejected her romantic advances and declined to promote her film projects on social media.

The Legal Battle Intensifies

Singer provided specific details about the timeline of their interactions, stating the two had met only twice. Their first meeting occurred in July in Reno, Nevada, where Renner was interviewed for Zhou's documentary Chronicles of Disney. During this encounter, Singer acknowledged they had a "brief consensual encounter."

The second meeting took place in August, after which Singer claims Renner ceased all communication with Zhou. The attorney alleged that Zhou had been "relentlessly harassing and threatening" the actor with "hundreds of unsolicited and unwanted messages."

Singer emphasized that Zhou's final message was sent on October 24 and that Renner had not responded to her since early autumn. "The true facts are that Ms Zhou has relentlessly and aggressively harassed and pursued my client for months with no reciprocation on my client's part, other than a single brief encounter on July 12 2025," Singer stated in his official declaration.

As of now, representatives for Yi Zhou have not publicly responded to the counter-allegations made by Renner's legal team. The situation remains developing as both parties present conflicting narratives about their interactions.
