Love Island USA Season 8 Dominates Streaming Charts
Love Island USA season 8 is continuing the franchise’s ratings success, becoming one of the biggest streaming hits of the summer with strong audience growth and record engagement. According to preliminary Nielsen data reported by Deadline, the season generated 2.3 billion minutes viewed during its first two weeks, marking a 50% increase compared with season 7 during the same period. The reality dating series ranked as the No. 1 streaming show for the weeks of June 1 and June 8.
Record Engagement Across Platforms
The show’s popularity has also boosted its companion series Aftersun, which returned with hosts Ciara Miller and Tefi Pessoa. Peacock revealed that Aftersun viewership has increased by 144% compared with the previous season. NBCUniversal also reported that the latest season is attracting a wider audience, with 27% of viewers being new fans of the franchise.
The company noted that a significant portion of engagement is happening through mobile devices, with 26% of interactions coming from phones and tablets. The Love Island USA mobile app has also seen major growth, with a 175% increase in unique users compared with season 7, according to ITV.
Viewer Participation and Social Media Success
Viewer participation has increased as well, with the second vote of season 8 receiving 77% more submissions than the same vote last year. The series has generated more than 1 billion video views across social media platforms so far this season, further highlighting its online popularity and growing fanbase.
Hosted by Ariana Madix and narrated by comedian Iain Stirling, Love Island USA season 8 is streaming exclusively on Peacock, with new episodes released daily except Wednesdays. The series is produced by ITV America, Lifted Entertainment and Motion Entertainment.
