Madonna Reveals Severe Knee Damage from Dancing in High Heels

Madonna has disclosed that her decades-long career as a pop icon has inflicted permanent damage on her knees. In an interview with Interview Magazine, the 57-year-old singer explained that years of performing in high heels, running on pavement, and practicing Ashtanga yoga have left her with no cartilage in one knee.

Details of the Injury

“I have a bad knee now. I have no cartilage in it, thanks to dancing for so long in high heels and running on pavement and doing Ashtanga yoga,” Madonna told the outlet. She added that until a year ago, she engaged in high-impact activities such as jumping on trampolines and dance cardio, which a doctor would describe as “loading on my joints.” She stated, “Can’t do that anymore.”

The Queen of Pop emphasized that she cannot skip exercise because it “keeps your body moving.” As a result, she has modified her workout regimen to include Peloton bikes, the Versa Climber, high-intensity circuit training, outdoor cycling, and dancing.
