Eva Green Injured on Wednesday Set, Recovering

Eva Green is recovering after sustaining a leg injury while filming the third season of Netflix's Wednesday. The French actress, who is joining the Addams Family spin-off as Aunt Ophelia, was reportedly taken to the hospital following an accident on set near Dublin earlier this month. Production was temporarily halted while she received treatment, with filming schedules subsequently rearranged.

Details of the Incident

A source told The UK Sun, “This was really nasty. Eva sustained an injury and was clearly in pain and producers were taking no chances. Medics were called and Eva went to hospital. She underwent treatment and is now recovering well.”

Green's Role as Aunt Ophelia

Green's casting as Aunt Ophelia was confirmed last year. The mysterious sister of Morticia Addams was teased at the end of the previous season after being shown from behind writing the words “Wednesday must die” on a wall, before Wednesday began experiencing psychic visions connected to Ophelia's journal.

Green's Excitement for the Role

Speaking about joining the series, Green previously said, “I can’t wait to bring my own touch of cuckoo-ness to the Addams Family. This show is such a deliciously dark and witty world.”

Anticipation for Season 3

Images of a promotional cake featuring Ophelia's name and fake blood have reportedly also appeared on social media as anticipation builds for the new season. Starring Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams and Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, Wednesday became Netflix's most-watched English-language series, second only to Squid Game globally. The production moved from Romania to County Wicklow, Ireland, for its second season, becoming the largest television production filmed in the country.
