HBO Max has unveiled the official trailer for Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, the latest spin-off from The Big Bang Theory franchise, ahead of its premiere on July 23. The 10-episode comedy series centers on comic book store owner Stuart Bloom, portrayed by Kevin Sussman, who must repair reality after accidentally breaking a device created by Sheldon Cooper and Leonard Hofstadter. The mishap triggers a multiverse crisis, forcing Stuart to find a way to restore the universe.
Plot and Characters
Stuart is joined on his mission by his girlfriend Denise, played by Lauren Lapkus, geologist Bert, portrayed by Brian Posehn, and quantum physicist Barry Kripke, played by John Ross Bowie. Throughout the series, the group encounters alternate-universe versions of familiar characters from The Big Bang Theory. The show expands the franchise's lore with a multiverse storyline, offering new comedic adventures.

The HBO Max series will release episodes weekly on Thursdays. It was created by Chuck Lorre, Zak Penn, and Bill Prady, who also serve as writers and executive producers. Television, Stuart Fails to Save the Universe marks the fourth series set within The Big Bang Theory universe. The original CBS sitcom ran for 12 seasons, while prequel series Young Sheldon concluded after seven seasons. Another spin-off, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, premiered on CBS in 2024.
