Female tech accuses Mardan hospital staff of harassment

Mardan: Senior female medical technician at District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) Mardan, Zakia Rehman, has leveled serious allegations against Class-IV employees’ association president Alamgir and his associates, claiming she is being subjected to mental harassment while accusations of negligence of duty against her are baseless and fabricated.

Allegations of Harassment and Misconduct

Speaking to media persons, Zakia Rehman stated that she has been performing continuous 18-hour package duties, yet attempts are allegedly being made to defame her character. She claimed that Alamgir’s brother, Abu Bakar, who according to her is not a hospital employee but an outsider, freely visits various departments, particularly the emergency slip counter, along with other companions. She further alleged that the said individual consumes drugs at the emergency slip counter.

Salary Fraud Allegations

The female technician also accused several Class-IV employees, including Maulana Ataullah, Asfandyar, and Nadeem, of drawing government salaries without regularly performing their duties. According to Zakia Rehman, an employee identified as Asfandyar continued receiving a salary despite allegedly working abroad, while Alamgir reportedly performed duties in his place. She claimed that complete records regarding the matter are available.

Praise for Honest Officers

The medical technician described the hospital’s Medical Superintendent, Dr Faheem Shah Roghani, and DMS Dr Taj as honest and dutiful officers, stating that under their supervision, most hospital staff members are responsibly performing their duties.
