KFSHRC Madinah: 23,443 Chemotherapy Sessions in 2025

The King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSHRC) in Madinah delivered 23,443 chemotherapy sessions in 2025, marking a 27 percent increase in treatment capacity compared to 2024. This growth is part of the hospital's long-term mission to provide world-class healthcare across the Kingdom.

Expansion of Oncology Services in Madinah

The Madinah branch opened in 2021, following the Jeddah branch (early 2000s) and the main Riyadh campus (1975). The expansion has enabled cancer patients in Madinah and surrounding areas to access advanced care closer to home. The center has 400 beds across multiple specialties, including pediatric and adult oncology, ophthalmology, obstetrics, and gynecology.

According to the hospital administration, care extends beyond drug therapy to include regular follow-up, management of treatment-related symptoms, nutritional guidance, and psychological support. This comprehensive approach helps patients navigate their treatment journey with greater stability and continuity.

Oncology services cover the full care pathway: patient assessment, review of pathology and imaging results, treatment planning, and delivery of systemic therapies including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapy. Multidisciplinary teams discuss complex cases to ensure tailored treatment plans based on disease stage and clinical needs.
