The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh, Javed Alam Odho, has constituted a high-level investigation committee to conduct a comprehensive and transparent inquiry into the alleged molestation and murder of a three-year-old girl in the Quaidabad area of Karachi. The directive was issued on Wednesday, as per a statement from the Sindh Police.
Committee Composition and Mandate
The committee is formed under the supervision of the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) East. Its members include the Superintendent of Police (SP) Special Investigation Unit (SIU), Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Malir, SSP Special Branch (Intelligence), SP Investigation Malir, the concerned Deputy Superintendent of Police, the Station Investigation Officer (SIO), and the investigating officer. The committee has been tasked with thoroughly examining all aspects of the tragic incident and submitting its report at the earliest.
Daily Reporting and Accountability
The statement further added that the committee is required to keep the IGP informed of developments in the case on a daily basis. This ensures continuous oversight and accountability in the investigation process.
IGP's Stern Warning
IGP Javed Alam Odho stated that those involved in the heinous crime do not deserve any leniency. He emphasized that all possible measures would be taken to ensure the culprits receive strict punishment in accordance with the law. The IGP directed police officials to utilize all available resources to apprehend the suspects involved in the case at the earliest.
Commitment to Justice
The IGP further said that providing justice to the bereaved family remains the top priority of Sindh Police. The formation of this high-level committee underscores the police department's resolve to conduct a transparent inquiry and deliver swift justice.
