Rawalpindi: Punjab Minister for Minorities Affairs Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora on Friday stated that quality healthcare facilities are being ensured across Punjab in accordance with the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. He made these remarks during his visit to Islamabad Medical and Dental College (IMDC), where hospital administrators briefed him on the institution's performance and the facilities available for students.
Hospital Briefing and Facilities
The briefing highlighted that Dr. Akbar Niazi Teaching Hospital, affiliated with IMDC, has a capacity of 500 beds and offers treatment for various diseases, including neurosurgery, kidney-related conditions, and liver ailments. The institution has so far provided healthcare services to 1.5 million people, demonstrating its significant impact on the region's health sector.
Visit to Library and Interaction with Students
The provincial minister also toured the college library and praised the institution's contributions to healthcare. Addressing students, he emphasized that the Punjab government is focusing on maternal and child health, and efforts are underway to integrate artificial intelligence into the healthcare sector to improve efficiency and outcomes.
Arora further highlighted that people of different religions in Pakistan enjoy complete religious freedom. He called for collective efforts to promote a positive image of the country, stressing unity and mutual respect among diverse communities.
The visit underscores the Punjab government's commitment to enhancing healthcare infrastructure and fostering an inclusive society under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif's leadership.
