Official Response

India's embassy in Vietnam confirmed the tragedy, posting on social media: "It is with profound grief that we share the list of 15 Indian nationals who have lost their lives in the tragic boat accident near Phuc Quoc Island today. The list has been received from the Vietnamese authorities. Our prayers are with the families of the deceased." The embassy also said it was monitoring the incident and had established emergency response centers in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi to assist affected families.

"Exact details of the incident are being ascertained as search and rescue operations by local authorities are ongoing," the embassy said in a statement, describing the incident as "tragic." The embassy also released a list of the 32 Indian tourists who were onboard, stating they were ascertaining further details of casualties.
