Rawalpindi police have apprehended a suspect accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting a married woman and extorting money from her through blackmail, a police spokesperson confirmed on Saturday.
Victim's Complaint
According to the First Information Report (FIR) lodged by the victim, the suspect had been blackmailing her for an extended period, subjecting her to sexual abuse and continuously demanding money. The victim stated that the suspect used threats to force her compliance.
Evidence Recovered
During a targeted operation, Chakri police recovered the suspect’s mobile phone, which was allegedly used to facilitate the crime. Additionally, a motorcycle purchased with funds extorted from the victim was seized by law enforcement officials.
Medical Examination and Investigation
Police confirmed that the victim has undergone the required medical examination, and a thorough investigation is currently underway. Authorities are gathering further evidence to build a strong case against the accused.
Statement from Police Official
SP Saddar Anum Sher stated that the suspect will be presented before the court with solid evidence. She reiterated that crimes involving sexual abuse, harassment, or violence against women and children are unacceptable and will be dealt with strictly under the law.
The arrest marks a significant step in addressing crimes against women in the region. Police have urged other victims to come forward and report such incidents without fear.
