The Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) on Monday confirmed that the incarcerated founder of PTI, Imran Khan, underwent a scheduled eye procedure on Sunday, describing the treatment as his fifth intravitreal injection.
PIMS Statement on Imran Khan's Eye Treatment
In a statement issued by PIMS administration, the hospital said the 74-year-old former premier was brought from Central Jail Adiala for follow-up ophthalmic treatment. It stated that prior to the procedure, he was first examined by ophthalmologists and was found to be "clinically stable".
Clinical Improvement Noted
The hospital added, "His Optical coherence tomography was performed, which showed clinical improvement." This indicates that the treatment is progressing positively.
The former prime minister has been incarcerated at Adiala Jail following his arrest in multiple cases. His health has been a subject of concern, and the PIMS medical team continues to monitor his condition regularly.
