Quetta Bar Honours Justice Barrech, Lauds Registry Move

The Quetta High Court Bar Association (QHCBA) held a reception on Tuesday to honour Justice Rozi Khan Barrech, Judge of the Federal Constitutional Court of Pakistan, and to commend Chief Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan for establishing the Federal Constitutional Court Registry at Quetta.

The event was attended by Justice Syed Arshad Hussain Shah, Judge of the Federal Constitutional Court; Chief Justice Kamran Khan Malakhail of the Balochistan High Court; other judges of the Balochistan High Court; senior advocates; bar office-bearers; and members of the legal fraternity.

During the reception, the QHCBA expressed sincere gratitude to Chief Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan for his initiative in setting up the registry. The bar termed the move a historic milestone that will greatly benefit the people of Balochistan, particularly underprivileged litigants, by allowing them to pursue constitutional matters in Quetta instead of travelling to Islamabad, thereby improving access to justice.

Justice Barrech's Appreciation

Justice Rozi Khan Barrech also appreciated the establishment of the Quetta Registry, describing it as a significant step towards strengthening constitutional justice and bringing the Federal Constitutional Court closer to the people of Balochistan.

The reception also recognized Justice Barrech’s distinguished judicial services and contributions to the administration of justice. Participants emphasized the importance of continued cooperation between the bench and the bar in strengthening judicial institutions and upholding constitutional governance.

The registry is expected to reduce the burden on litigants who previously had to travel long distances to Islamabad for constitutional cases. This initiative aligns with broader efforts to decentralize judicial services and ensure equal access to justice across Pakistan's provinces.
