ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts in facilitating understanding between the United States and Iran received further international recognition on Wednesday, as the foreign ministers of Canada, Bahrain and Türkiye separately congratulated Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on the breakthrough and lauded Islamabad’s constructive mediation role.
Canadian Foreign Minister’s Praise
During a telephone conversation, Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand commended Pakistan’s contribution to supporting diplomatic engagement and mediation efforts between Washington and Tehran, which helped pave the way for the understanding reached between the two sides. The two leaders also discussed the forthcoming engagement between the parties scheduled to take place in Bürgenstock, Switzerland, on Friday, the Foreign Office said. Dar and Anand welcomed the positive momentum in Pakistan-Canada relations and reaffirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
Bahraini Foreign Minister’s Congratulations
In a separate call, Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani congratulated Pakistan on the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding between the United States and Iran, in which Pakistan served as a witness. He praised Islamabad’s constructive role in facilitating dialogue and helping bridge differences between the two countries. Both leaders expressed hope that the agreement would contribute to lasting peace and stability in the region. They also reaffirmed the strong brotherly ties between Pakistan and Bahrain and underscored the importance of continued high-level engagement and close bilateral cooperation.
