Saudi, Irish FMs Discuss Expanding Bilateral Ties

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan met Ireland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Trade and Defence Helen McEntee in Jeddah on Tuesday to review bilateral relations and explore ways to strengthen cooperation across multiple sectors.

Expanding the Saudi-Irish Partnership

The ministers discussed expanding the Saudi-Irish partnership and advancing shared interests, according to a statement by the Saudi Foreign Ministry on X. They emphasized the importance of continued diplomatic efforts to address crises, restore regional stability, and safeguard maritime security and freedom of navigation.

Regional and International Developments

Both sides discussed regional and international developments, including efforts to de-escalate tensions and create conditions for comprehensive peaceful solutions to conflicts in the region. They stressed the need for diplomatic engagement to achieve lasting peace.

Economic and Trade Cooperation

Prince Faisal and Minister McEntee also explored opportunities to strengthen economic and trade cooperation, encourage public-private partnerships, and capitalize on opportunities under Saudi Vision 2030 to boost bilateral trade and investment. The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister for Political Affairs Saud Al-Sati and Fareed bin Saad Al-Shehri, director-general of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs branch in Makkah.
