Identification of victims continued on Saturday following the tragic bus accident in the Dana Sar border region between Balochistan and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, as authorities worked swiftly to return the deceased to their families. Rescue officials said 33 bodies were initially shifted to Zhob Civil Hospital.

Identification Progress

Of these, 26 victims have now been successfully identified and their remains transported to their native areas. However, seven bodies, including four women, one child, and two men, are yet to be identified and are still at the hospital. The identified victims belonged to various districts including Peshawar, Malakand, Bajaur, Waziristan, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Qila Abdullah, and Bhakkar. The driver of the ill-fated coach, Babu Ustad, was also among those killed.

Authorities Take Action

Acting on the directives of Balochistan Chief Minister, the Transport Department sealed the office of the private transport company at Jabal Noor Bus Terminal in Quetta. The bus involved in the accident belonged to this company. Preliminary investigations suggesting possible negligence prompted the sealing of the office. Further legal action against the company will continue until the inquiry is completed. The Secretary Transport has been assigned to determine the exact causes of the crash and ensure accountability.
