President Asif Ali Zardari, during an official visit to the Kyrgyz Republic on Wednesday, paid tribute to the nation's historical legacy at the Ata Beit Memorial Complex in Chong-Tash. He also held a key meeting with Speaker of the Kyrgyz Parliament Mamataliev Marlen Abdyrakhmanovich in Bishkek, aimed at converting deep-rooted political goodwill into tangible economic and parliamentary cooperation.
Visit to Ata Beit Memorial Complex
The president visited the Ata Beit Memorial Complex, a solemn historical site and resting place of Kyrgyzstan's national figures. He laid a wreath at the central monument and paid tribute to the Kyrgyz nationals martyred in different historical eras and the nation's struggle for independence, according to a press release from the President Secretariat Media Wing.
Tour of Memorial Museum
President Zardari then visited the Ata-Beit Memorial Museum, where he viewed historical artefacts chronicling Kyrgyzstan's journey to sovereignty. The museum includes a memorial dedicated to the renowned Kyrgyz writer Chingiz Aitmatov, who is also buried at the site.
Meeting with Kyrgyz Speaker
In his meeting with Speaker Mamataliev Marlen Abdyrakhmanovich, President Zardari emphasized the importance of strengthening inter-parliamentary ties. Both leaders discussed ways to enhance cooperation in trade, investment, and culture, building on the longstanding political goodwill between Pakistan and the Kyrgyz Republic.
