ISLAMABAD - Deputy Chairman Senate Syedaal Khan met a delegation of local representatives from Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). The delegation comprised Javed Rathore, Sardar Zulfiqar, Sardar Mumtaz Khan, and Shafeeq Ahmed Butt. The delegation briefed the Deputy Chairman Senate on various public issues, development needs, and matters relating to the welfare of the people of Azad Kashmir.
During the meeting, Deputy Chairman Senate Syedaal Khan stated that Kashmir is the jugular vein of Pakistan and remains one of the most important issues for the people of Pakistan. He emphasized that all political parties in the country are united on the Kashmir issue and firmly support the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people. He stressed that a just, lasting, and peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute must be achieved in accordance with the United Nations resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
The Deputy Chairman Senate said that Pakistan has consistently highlighted the grave human rights violations and denial of fundamental freedoms in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir at every international forum and will continue to do so. He reaffirmed Pakistan's unwavering political, diplomatic, and moral support for the people of Kashmir.
Syedaal Khan underscored the need for further improvement in the sectors of health, education, and forestry in Azad Kashmir, stating that progress in these areas is essential for the region's sustainable development and prosperity. He assured the delegation that all possible efforts would be made, in coordination with relevant institutions and public representatives, to promote development, public welfare, and the provision of basic facilities in Azad Kashmir.
He further stated that the primary objective of politics is public service and addressing the problems faced by the people. Public representatives, he said, must strive to meet the expectations of the people and accelerate the pace of development to ensure a better quality of life for all citizens.
Discussing regional and international developments, the Deputy Chairman Senate noted that Pakistan has always advocated peace, stability, and dialogue. Welcoming the ongoing diplomatic progress between Iran and the United States, he said Pakistan has played a constructive role in reducing tensions and promoting peace in the region. He added that the international community has acknowledged and appreciated Pakistan's responsible and positive efforts in this regard.
Syedaal Khan emphasized that meaningful dialogue remains the only sustainable solution to conflicts and disputes. He said that Pakistan's political and defence leadership are working in unison to safeguard national interests while promoting regional peace and stability. Expressing optimism, he said he hoped that, with the grace of Almighty Allah, the Kashmir dispute and other regional conflicts would be resolved peacefully in the near future.
The delegation appreciated the Deputy Chairman Senate's principled stance on the Kashmir issue, his keen interest in the development of Azad Kashmir, and his efforts to address public concerns and improve the welfare of the people.
