The joint protest sit-in by relatives of those killed and missing in the Hanna Urak terrorist attack, along with local residents and political parties, entered its fifth day on Wednesday. Demonstrators are refusing to bury the dead until their demands are met.
Protesters Vow to Continue Sit-In
Protest leaders announced they would continue the sit-in on Airport Road and not bury the bodies until the 11 missing persons are recovered, armed groups are eliminated from Hanna Urak and other affected areas, and authorized state representatives arrive for negotiations.
Death Toll Rises to Five
Ajab Khan Kakar, a leader of the sit-in, told media that another civilian injured in the terrorist firing has succumbed to his injuries, raising the death toll to five. Eleven people remain missing after the attack.
Three Demands Presented to Government
"We have placed three clear demands before the government," Kakar said. "First, the immediate recovery of all persons who went missing after the attack; second, the complete elimination of armed groups from Hanna Urak and other affected areas; and third, the arrival of empowered representatives of the state for talks."
