Islamabad Police have cracked a blind murder case involving the death of a woman, arresting three suspects who allegedly conspired to kill her and then staged the incident as an accidental electrocution. The breakthrough came through the use of Safe City cameras, human intelligence, and advanced technological methods, according to officials.
Initial Incident and Suspicious Death
The victim, identified as Bushra, died under suspicious circumstances on May 20, 2026. Initially, the incident was presented as an accidental electrocution, and the body was buried shortly after. However, Banigala Police noted several suspicious aspects and launched a comprehensive investigation.
Investigation and Arrests
Islamabad Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Muhammad Jawad Tariq stated that the case was solved using modern techniques. "The case was traced with the help of Safe City cameras, human intelligence, and advanced technology," he said. The arrested suspects include Zahir Shah, the victim's biological father; Asad Khan, her former husband; and Pir Muhammad, her father-in-law.
Police alleged that the three suspects conspired to murder Bushra and then attempted to conceal the crime by making it appear as an accidental electrocution. However, the investigation uncovered evidence that exposed the murder plot, leading to their arrest.
Impact and Ongoing Proceedings
The arrests highlight the effectiveness of modern policing tools in solving complex cases. The suspects are in custody and further legal proceedings are underway.
