Pakistan Peoples Party Central Punjab General Secretary Syed Hassan Murtaza expressed satisfaction over the formation of the new government in Gilgit-Baltistan, terming the democratic process a success under the party's leadership. He highlighted the oath-taking of newly-elected Chief Minister Amjad Hussain as a key milestone.
Uncontested Elections Reflect Public Trust
Murtaza stated that the election of Amjad Hussain as Leader of the House and Imran Nadeem as Speaker was a victory for democracy. He noted that Amjad Hussain Advocate was elected uncontested, which demonstrates the full confidence of the people and elected representatives in the Pakistan Peoples Party.
According to Murtaza, the historic success of PPP in Gilgit-Baltistan is attributed to the leadership of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Asifa Bhutto Zardari. The uncontested election of PPP candidates is a manifestation of the unwavering trust that the people of Gilgit-Baltistan have placed in the party.
Commitment to Development and Rights
The PPP general secretary clarified that the new government would prioritize ensuring sovereignty and property rights in Gilgit-Baltistan. He promised a new era of development and prosperity for the region under the PPP administration.
In a separate incident, three suspected robbers were killed in a shootout with the Chiniot CCD police. The encounter took place during a police operation against criminal elements in the area.
