Punjab Information and Culture Minister Azma Bukhari convened a meeting with members of the Faisalabad Divisional Peace Committee during her visit to the division on Tuesday. The discussions centered on maintaining law and order, promoting inter-sect harmony, religious tolerance, and brotherhood during the month of Muharram-ul-Haram.
Participants and Appreciation
The meeting was attended by prominent religious scholars and community leaders, including Sahibzada Zahid Mahmood Qasmi, Hafiz Muhammad Amjad, Allama Tahir-ul-Hassan, Hafiz Maqbool Ahmed, Yaseen Zafar, Jaffar Naqvi, Muhammad Aslam Bhalli, Khawaja Shahid Razzaq, Ashiq Hussain Rizvi, Muhammad Farooq, Syed Muhammad Raza Shah, Ameer-u-ddin Rizvi, Mufti Abdul Mueed, Mumtaz Gondal, and Mufti Nasaruddin, among others. The committee members expressed appreciation for the efforts of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif in promoting peace, tolerance, and brotherhood across the province during Muharram.
Collective Responsibility for Peace
Azma Bukhari emphasized that maintaining peace during Muharram is a collective responsibility shared by the government, administration, religious scholars, peace committees, and the public. She highlighted the crucial role of the Faisalabad Divisional Peace Committee in sustaining peace and assured that through close coordination among all relevant departments, religious scholars, and organizers, a peaceful environment would be ensured this year as well.
Coordination for Processions and Prayers
The minister stressed the need for effective coordination to ensure the peaceful conduct of Ashura processions, Majalis, and Friday prayers. She noted that promoting religious harmony, tolerance, and brotherhood is the need of the hour. Azma Bukhari stated that the Punjab government and all relevant institutions are fully active in maintaining law and order and protecting the lives and property of citizens.
Optimism for Peaceful Observance
She expressed hope that with the cooperation of religious scholars, peace committees, the administration, and the public, all Muharram gatherings and processions would be held peacefully. The meeting underscored the commitment to a secure and harmonious observance of the sacred month.
