Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Sunday stated that no party should question the sincerity of either the United States or Iran in the ongoing negotiations aimed at resolving outstanding issues between the two countries. Speaking to Arab media, Dar said matters related to sanctions on Iran are expected to be part of discussions with the United States, expressing confidence that Washington and Tehran would eventually reach a comprehensive agreement.
Regional Support for Mediation
Dar noted that regional partners including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, and Turkiye have extended support for mediation efforts. He added that there is no justification to doubt the good faith of any side involved in the dialogue process. The deputy prime minister further observed that the ongoing conflict in the Middle East is having wider global implications and expressed hope that tensions in the region would gradually ease in the coming period.
Strait of Hormuz and Maritime Traffic
Dar also stated that no disruption is anticipated in maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz over the next 60 days, providing reassurance regarding a key global oil transit chokepoint.
