PM Forms Committee to Review Telecom Bill

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has constituted a high-level committee to review the Telecommunication Reorganization (Amendment) Bill, aiming to examine key legal and regulatory aspects of the proposed legislation. According to details, the committee will be headed by Federal Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazir Tarar. Its members include Senator Sherry Rehman, Minister for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Cheema, Attorney General Mansoor Awan, along with experts from the legal and information technology sectors.

Committee's Mandate and Tasks

The committee has been tasked with reviewing matters related to right-of-way for the establishment of telecommunication infrastructure across the country. It will also examine issues concerning the use of private property and housing societies in relation to telecom operations and infrastructure development. After completing its review, the committee will submit recommendations to the prime minister for further consideration and possible legislative action.
