Gulf Arab States Condemn Damascus Bomb Blasts

The explosions occurred near the hotel where French President Emmanuel Macron was staying during his landmark visit to meet Syrian President Ahmad Al-Sharaa. Saudi Arabia Leads Condemnation

The Saudi Foreign Ministry issued a statement on X.com expressing the Kingdom's strongest condemnation of the cowardly terrorist attack. The ministry noted that the injuries resulted from attempts to dismantle two explosive devices planted by a terrorist cell. The statement reiterated Saudi Arabia's categorical rejection of all terrorist and extremist acts aimed at undermining Syria's security and stability, and expressed sympathy to the families of the injured and the Syrian government and people.

Kuwait and Qatar Also Denounce Attack

Kuwait's Ministry of Foreign Affairs similarly condemned the explosions, describing them as a criminal act targeting the security and stability of the Syrian Arab Republic. Qatar also slammed the attack, reaffirming its firm stance against violence and terrorism regardless of motives. Qatar expressed full solidarity with Syria and support for measures to preserve security and stability, wishing a speedy recovery for the injured.

Blast a Setback for Syria's New President

The blasts were the second to shake the capital in recent days, marking a setback for President Al-Sharaa, who was hosting his first visit from a Western leader since the ousting of longtime dictator Bashar Assad.
