Iran's Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr Reza Amiri Moghaddam, on Thursday commended Pakistan's support during the recent Iran-Israel conflict and urged enhanced regional collaboration to foster peace and stability in West Asia. Former Pakistan ambassador to Iran, Ambassador Asif Ali Khan Durrani, described West Asia as being at a critical juncture and proposed a six-point framework for a regional security architecture. The framework includes respect for sovereignty, non-interference, institutionalized dialogue, maritime security, economic integration, and counter-terrorism cooperation.
Role of Media and Bilateral Relations
Ms Zohreh Shahbeik, First Counsellor at the Embassy of Iran, highlighted Pakistan's role in supporting regional peace efforts and stressed that sustained engagement and mutual understanding are essential for strengthening bilateral relations. Abu Baker Younis Matar, Bureau Chief of Pakistan Al Mayadeen TV, discussed the role of regional media in shaping public perceptions of conflicts in Gaza, Lebanon, and Iran. He described the Palestinian issue as a central factor in regional instability and underscored the importance of balanced media coverage.
