Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian has arrived in Islamabad on a state visit to Pakistan, marking a significant diplomatic engagement between the two neighboring countries. He was warmly received at the airport by President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, and Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
Grand Welcome Ceremony
Upon his arrival, President Pezeshkian was accorded a 21-gun salute, a traditional honor reserved for visiting heads of state. Children dressed in traditional Pakistani attire presented him with bouquets of flowers, adding a cultural touch to the ceremonial welcome. The event underscored the strong ties between Pakistan and Iran, which are deeply rooted in shared history, faith, and culture.
Earlier in the day, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi arrived in Islamabad as part of the delegation accompanying President Pezeshkian. Upon arrival at Nur Khan Airbase, Foreign Minister Araghchi was warmly received by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar. The leadership and people of Pakistan have extended a warm welcome to Foreign Minister Araghchi and the entire Iranian delegation.

This state visit is expected to strengthen bilateral relations between Pakistan and Iran, focusing on trade, energy cooperation, and regional security.
