Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephonic conversation with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud on Saturday. The two leaders exchanged views on recent developments in the region, expressing deep concern over escalations despite the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the United States and Iran in June 2026.
Concerns Over Renewed Conflict
Dar and Prince Faisal agreed that the renewed conflict serves no one's interest and undermines efforts toward regional peace and stability. They emphasized that continued dialogue and de-escalation are essential to avoid further deterioration of the security situation.
Saudi Perspective on Diplomatic Efforts
The Saudi Foreign Minister shared the Kingdom's perspective on ongoing diplomatic initiatives, highlighting the importance of de-escalation and sustained communication among all parties. He stressed that mediation efforts must be given the necessary time and space to achieve a peaceful and meaningful outcome.
Pakistan's Call for Restraint
Deputy PM Dar reaffirmed Pakistan's call on all parties to exercise maximum restraint. He urged allowing mediation efforts the required time and space to produce a peaceful resolution. The two leaders agreed to remain in close contact to monitor the situation and coordinate diplomatic efforts.
