Pakistan, China Reaffirm Regional Peace Commitment

Pakistan and China have reaffirmed their shared commitment to regional peace, stability, and enhanced strategic cooperation during a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad.

Review of Diplomatic Engagements

Both sides reviewed key developments related to ongoing diplomatic engagements aimed at promoting dialogue and de-escalation in regional conflicts, according to a statement from the Foreign Office. Deputy Prime Minister Dar shared updates on recent high-level talks regarding the implementation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which was held in Bürgenstock, Switzerland.

Dar also briefed the Chinese Ambassador on his recent participation in the R-4 Regional Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Cairo, where Pakistan engaged with Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye to advance coordinated diplomatic efforts for peaceful resolution of disputes.

Appreciation for China's Support

The Deputy Prime Minister appreciated the consistent and principled support of China for Pakistan’s peace initiatives. He particularly lauded China’s contributions to regional diplomacy, including President Xi Jinping’s Four-Point Proposal and the China-Pakistan Five-Point Initiative, describing them as important frameworks for promoting dialogue and stability.

The Chinese Ambassador commended Pakistan’s role in supporting de-escalation efforts and reiterated China’s firm backing for Pakistan’s constructive mediation role in advancing durable peace and regional stability.

Emphasis on Diplomatic Solutions

Both sides underscored the importance of sustained diplomatic engagement, dialogue, and negotiations as the only viable path toward resolving outstanding issues. Reaffirming the depth of bilateral ties, the Deputy Prime Minister expressed Pakistan’s resolve to continue close consultations and coordination with China to advance shared objectives of peace, stability, and common development, while further strengthening the All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership between the two countries.
