Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with the Acting Governor of the Makkah Region, Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, in Jeddah, where both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the longstanding and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
High-Level Meeting in Jeddah
The meeting was also attended by Jeddah Governor Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi, Taif Governor Prince Saud bin Nahar bin Saud, and several distinguished members of the Saudi royal family. During the meeting, Naqvi expressed Pakistan’s gratitude for the exceptional arrangements made by Saudi authorities for Umrah and Hajj pilgrims.
Gratitude for Hajj Services
He specifically thanked the Acting Governor of the Makkah Region for ensuring high standards of service and facilitation for millions of worshipers, including Pakistani pilgrims. Prince Saud bin Mishaal reiterated Saudi Arabia’s strong commitment to its relationship with Pakistan and pledged continued cooperation across areas of mutual interest.
Saudi Support for Cricket Development
The Acting Governor also welcomed the recently signed agreement between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Saudi Arabian Cricket Federation, describing it as a positive step toward expanding sporting cooperation between the two countries. He further praised the decision to build Jeddah’s first international-standard cricket stadium and expressed the Makkah Region’s full support for the project. Prince Saud affirmed that his administration would extend every possible cooperation to the PCB in facilitating the construction of the stadium, underscoring Saudi Arabia’s growing interest in the development of cricket.

The meeting reflected the close diplomatic, religious, and people-to-people ties shared by Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, while highlighting both countries’ commitment to expanding cooperation in diverse sectors, including sports and regional development.
