Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif received a telephone call from the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, on Saturday. The two leaders exchanged warm greetings and extended good wishes for the brotherly peoples of their respective countries.
Appreciation for Qatar's Support
The Prime Minister expressed deep appreciation for Qatar's strong and steadfast support for Pakistan's peace efforts throughout the Gulf crisis. He noted that a peace deal is ready for signatures by the relevant parties very shortly.
Qatari PM Praises Pakistan's Role
Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani sincerely appreciated Pakistan's remarkable efforts for peace. He paid tribute to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for playing an instrumental role in steering the diplomatic efforts. He stated that Qatar is proud to extend its support to Pakistan's endeavors and hopes that this will bring lasting peace to the region.
Invitation to Amir of Qatar
Conveying his greetings to the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated his invitation for the Amir to undertake an official visit to Pakistan. Both leaders agreed to remain in close contact in the coming days.
