Rawalpindi Police Bolster Security at Four Entry Points to AJK

In a bid to prevent terrorism, sabotage, and maintain law and order, Rawalpindi Police have further strengthened security and surveillance at four special police pickets that connect the district with Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). The security arrangements have been enhanced at the Azad Pattan, Bewar, Salgran, and Dhan Gali check posts.

Round-the-Clock Deployment and Supervision

Police personnel will perform duty around the clock in two 12-hour shifts under the supervision of inspectors and sub-inspectors. Overall supervision will be carried out by SSP Operations Malik Tariq Mehboob, while CPO Rawalpindi Khalid Hamdani will personally oversee command and control.

Strict Enforcement of Standard Operating Procedures

According to official directives, officers deployed at the check posts have been instructed to ensure strict checking of suspicious vehicles, individuals, and luggage to prevent terrorists and other suspects from achieving their objectives. Strict implementation of all standard operating procedures (SOPs) has also been ordered.

Specific Deployments at Each Check Post

At Azad Pattan check post, Sub-Inspector Jamal Nawaz will supervise two 12-hour shifts comprising two assistant sub-inspectors, two constables from Kahuta Police Station, and 10 armed Punjab Constabulary personnel in each shift. At Dhan Gali check post, Inspector Ali Abbas Hamdani will supervise two shifts, each comprising one sub-inspector, one assistant sub-inspector, constables from Kallar Syedan Police Station, guard personnel, and armed Punjab Constabulary officials. Bewar check post will operate under Inspector Usama with assistant sub-inspectors, constables from Kahuta Police Station, guard personnel, and armed Punjab Constabulary officials deployed in two shifts. Salgran check post will function under Sub-Inspector Zia Parvez with assistant sub-inspectors, constables from Kallar Syedan Police Station, guard personnel, and armed Punjab Constabulary personnel.

Mandatory Safety Gear and Equipment

Circle DSPs and SHOs have been directed to ensure that personnel perform duties strictly according to SOPs. Helmets, bulletproof jackets, and wireless sets have been made mandatory for all officers deployed at the check posts.
