Saudi environmentalist Hassan Alzain is leveraging research, writing, and environmental policy to promote climate resilience and sustainability in Saudi Arabia and globally. A graduate of the Yale School of the Environment, Alzain recently earned a Master of Environmental Management with specializations in Climate Change Science and Solutions and Energy and the Environment, achieving a perfect 4.0 GPA.
Achievements and Recognition
Alzain is the first Saudi GCC national to receive a Chartered Fellowship from the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health. He has published over 50 works, including books, scientific manuscripts, conference papers, and technical articles. His co-authored book "Green Gambit" (2025) with Victor R. Kalimugogo explores climate science, energy systems, and environmental policy, winning a Green World Award. His forthcoming book "Resilient Communities" examines climate adaptation through sustainability, governance, and resilience, also earning a Green World Award in the Innovation Category.

Transitioning from that local momentum to the rigorous, multidisciplinary environment at Yale allowed me to see exactly how global climate science intersects with our national aspirations." He emphasized that Saudi Arabia is actively leading the global climate dialogue and that his commitment is to develop scalable, practical resilience frameworks for Vision 2030 environmental goals.
