Pakistan Weather: Hot and Dry, Isolated Rain in Upper Regions

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast mainly hot and dry weather for most parts of the country on Tuesday, with isolated rain-wind/thunderstorms likely in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and northeastern Punjab.

Islamabad and Adjoining Areas

Islamabad and its adjoining areas are expected to remain hot, with partly cloudy conditions likely during the afternoon, according to the Met Office.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Weather

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, hot and dry weather is forecast for most districts. However, partly cloudy conditions with isolated rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected in Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Abbottabad, and Parachinar.

Punjab Weather

Punjab is also likely to experience mainly hot and dry weather. Isolated rain-wind/thunderstorms may occur in Murree, Galiyat, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Sargodha, Faisalabad, and Khanewal.

Sindh, Balochistan, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan

Sindh and Balochistan are expected to remain predominantly hot and dry. Partly cloudy weather accompanied by isolated rain-wind/thunderstorms is forecast for Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Past 24 Hours Weather

During the last 24 hours, rain-wind/thunderstorms occurred at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, northeastern Balochistan, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. Hot and dry conditions prevailed elsewhere in the country.

Rainfall and Temperature Records

The highest rainfall was recorded in Malam Jabba at 55 mm, followed by Khanewal at 30 mm, Narowal at 27 mm, Lahore Airport at 22 mm, Dera Ghazi Khan at 21 mm, Kot Addu at 16 mm, and Islamabad's Golra area at 13 mm. The highest maximum temperature recorded in the country on Monday was 45 degrees Celsius in Sibbi, followed by 43 degrees Celsius in Dalbandin, Shaheed Benazirabad, Nokkundi, and Dadu.
