Saudi, Pakistani FMs Discuss US-Iran Talks Progress

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and his Pakistani counterpart Ishaq Dar held a phone call on Thursday to discuss the latest round of negotiations between the United States and Iran, which took place in Doha. The talks, mediated by Qatar, aim to end the four-month US-Israeli war on Iran.

Positive Progress in Doha Talks

A Qatar Foreign Ministry spokesperson announced on X that the negotiations achieved “positive progress” on matters related to the memorandum that halted the war in June. The memorandum of understanding, brokered by Qatar and Pakistan, included a 60-day ceasefire. The two ministers expressed satisfaction with the progress and voiced hope that the talks would lead to a peaceful and comprehensive resolution to the regional conflict, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

Diplomatic Engagement

The discussion between Prince Faisal and Dar underscores the close coordination between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan on regional security issues. Both nations have played key roles in facilitating dialogue between the US and Iran, with Pakistan co-brokering the initial ceasefire agreement in June.
