SC Issues Notices on PTI Founder Meeting Restrictions Case

The Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday issued notices to the respondents during the hearing of a case concerning restrictions on meetings with the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), access by family members and his personal physician, and his proposed transfer to Shifa Hospital.

Case Hearing Details

A three-member bench headed by Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar heard the case. During the proceedings, the Court issued notices to the Superintendent of Adiala Jail, the Home Secretary Punjab, the Advocate General Islamabad, and the Advocate General Punjab, directing them to submit their responses within three weeks.

Petitions Filed

The petition was filed by Salman Akram Raja, who approached the Supreme Court over the alleged non-implementation of an Islamabad High Court decision regarding meetings with the PTI founder. A separate petition has also been filed by Mishal Yousafzai on the matter.

Legal Representation

Salman Akram Raja, Barrister Ali Zafar, Babar Awan, and Uzair Bhandari appeared before the Court during the hearing. The Supreme Court subsequently adjourned further proceedings in the case.
