Pakistani security forces have uncovered the terror activities of the banned militant outfit Fitna al-Khawarij following the arrest of a suspected terrorist who made significant disclosures during his confession. According to security sources, the arrested militant, Umar Din alias Jazba, revealed details about the group's operational structure, recruitment tactics, funding sources, and involvement in terrorist and criminal activities.
Details of the Confession
In his statement, Umar Din said he joined the TTP on January 12, 2025, after a disputed argument with his father. He claimed that senior militant commanders were accompanied by dozens of Afghan nationals and had received terrorism training in Afghanistan. The suspect further confessed that the network was involved in attacks on the Shadi Khel base and a bombing on the Kota Khwah Road in KP, which resulted in the martyrdom of seven police personnel during Ramadan.
Criminal Activities and Exploitation
Umar Din also accused members of the group of engaging in criminal and unethical activities, including extortion, vehicle theft, kidnapping for ransom, and drug abuse. He said that some commanders exploited young recruits while using slogans related to Sharia enforcement and jihad to attract and radicalize vulnerable youth.
Financial Support from Afghanistan
The arrested militant further claimed that the group receives financial support from militant commanders based in Afghanistan, enabling it to sustain its activities. Appealing to youth, Umar Din urged them not to fall victim to what he described as the group's false promises and misleading propaganda.
