US-Iran Talks Set for July 11 in Pakistan Amid Nuclear, Sanctions Agenda
US-Iran Talks July 11 in Pakistan on Nuclear, Sanctions

The next round of negotiations between the United States and Iran is scheduled to take place in Pakistan on July 11, according to Arab media reports. The talks will cover a range of critical issues, including US sanctions on Iran, the release of Tehran’s frozen assets, and developments related to Iran’s nuclear programme.

Agenda and Delegation Details

Al Arabiya reported that the agenda for the July 11 meeting will focus on the lifting of US sanctions, the unfreezing of Iranian assets held abroad, and the status of Iran’s nuclear activities. A final decision on who will lead the Iranian delegation is pending the burial of Iran’s late supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The official lineup is expected to be announced once the funeral ceremonies are completed.

Massive Mourning for Khamenei

Earlier, tens of thousands of mourners gathered at a large prayer complex in Tehran on Saturday to pay their last respects to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who led the Islamic Republic for 37 years before being killed at the beginning of the US-Israeli war on Iran. Many mourners, dressed in black and carrying Iran’s national flags, held posters and printed photographs of Khamenei as well as his son and successor as supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei. Iran is holding large-scale funeral processions for Khamenei, who was killed in February during the opening airstrikes of the conflict launched by the United States and Israel. The ceremonies are being seen as a display of public support for the Islamic Republic’s religious leadership and revolutionary ideals.
