Gwadar Police Dismisses 14 Personnel After Armed Attack on Police Station

District Police Gwadar has dismissed 14 personnel, including a sub-inspector, for serious negligence, corruption, and irresponsible conduct while on duty, following an armed attack on Police Station Center. The action was taken on the basis of an inquiry report into the June 7 incident. Those dismissed are: Sub-Inspector Niaz Ahmed, Head Constable Majid Hussain, Waris Ali, Bilal Ahmed, Muhammad Yousaf, Zahid Ali, Murtaza, Samir, Akbar Ali, Noor Bakhsh, Muhammad Ishaq, Abdul Hakim, Khalid, and Amjad Ali.

Details of the Attack

According to police sources, unidentified armed assailants attacked the police station around 8pm on June 7. The attackers overpowered the on-duty personnel, looted official weapons, ammunition, and other government equipment, and escaped without resistance. No casualties were reported, though a significant quantity of arms and official property was taken.

Inquiry and Findings

In response to the severity of the incident, an inquiry committee headed by SP Security Gwadar Abdul Waheed was immediately constituted. After detailed investigations, the committee found the officers guilty of carelessness during duty hours, dereliction of duty, and violation of security protocols. The dismissals underscore the police department's commitment to accountability and strict action against negligence that compromises public safety.
