The Islamabad district administration has bolstered its accountability system by conducting a thorough review of the monthly performance of Assistant Commissioners (ACs) and magistrates. The meeting, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Memon, evaluated progress on key administrative duties, public service delivery, and enforcement campaigns across the federal capital.
Performance Review Details
During the session, magistrates presented statistics on actions taken regarding price control measures, anti-begging operations, and anti-encroachment drives. Officials briefed the deputy commissioner on enforcement activities from the previous month and highlighted efforts to maintain public order and regulate markets. The performance of each Assistant Commissioner was individually reviewed, covering their court work, field activities, and other official responsibilities. Each officer's progress was discussed to assess efficiency and identify areas needing improvement.
Enforcement and Public Welfare
Officials provided updates on monitoring of marriage halls, regulation of open spaces, enforcement of official prices, and implementation of government-approved rates for roti and naan. Updates were also shared on anti-dengue measures, including inspections and preventive actions in various sectors of Islamabad. The meeting further reviewed operations against illegal LPG businesses and unauthorized petrol agencies. Participants were informed about enforcement measures against encroachments and illegally installed cabins in different parts of the city.
Open Door Policy and Future Directives
The deputy commissioner directed officers to continue these operations in accordance with the law. Emphasizing public access to government offices, Irfan Memon stressed the need for strict implementation of the district administration’s Open Door Policy. He instructed Assistant Commissioners to make daily meetings with citizens a regular part of their routine and ensure that public complaints receive prompt attention. The deputy commissioner also directed officers to maintain daily anti-encroachment operations without discrimination. He said enforcement actions should be carried out consistently to keep public spaces clear and ensure compliance with regulations.
The district administration stated that regular performance reviews will continue as part of its accountability framework, helping authorities monitor progress, improve service delivery, and ensure that administrative officers fulfill their responsibilities effectively.
