Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi and Additional Inspector General of Police - Karachi Azad Khan on Tuesday visited Numaish Chowrangi to assess security and administrative preparations for Muharram-ul-Haram. The visit included senior officers from the police and other relevant departments, according to a Karachi Police spokesperson.
Inspection of Procession Routes and Facilities
The officials inspected the route of the main Muharram procession, procession sites, and entry and exit points. During a briefing, officers from Karachi Police, the district administration, and other concerned departments detailed the arrangements being made for the observance of Muharram. The review covered cleanliness of procession routes, street lighting, water supply, and other public facilities to ensure smooth conduct of religious gatherings. Representatives of relevant government departments, the administration, and organisers of religious congregations and processions also attended the meeting.
Coordination and Resource Deployment
The police spokesperson stated that Karachi Police remained in close coordination with the district administration and other concerned institutions. All available resources would be utilized to ensure the protection of life and property during Muharram-ul-Haram. The visit underscores the authorities' commitment to maintaining security and order during the religious observances.
