KP Assembly to Adopt AI Financial Tools

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly is actively exploring the adoption of modern accounting systems and artificial intelligence-based financial management tools as part of ongoing efforts to enhance transparency, accountability, and institutional efficiency. These developments were discussed during a meeting between Speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Babar Saleem Swati and a delegation led by Controller General of Accounts Pakistan Umar Ali Khan at the Provincial Assembly Secretariat.

Delegation Briefs Speaker on Financial Reforms

The delegation, which included Accountant General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Khalid Mahmood and Additional Accountant General Saif-ul-Islam, briefed the Speaker on ongoing reforms in public financial management, digitalisation initiatives, and the integration of modern technologies into accounting processes. Officials stated that the introduction of advanced accounting mechanisms and digital systems would strengthen financial oversight, improve institutional performance, and align governance practices with contemporary standards.

Proposals for Innovation and Efficiency

The delegation also presented proposals aimed at enhancing innovation, efficiency, and transparency in the Provincial Assembly’s financial management framework. Speaking on the occasion, Babar Saleem Swati welcomed the reform initiatives and emphasized that the adoption of modern technologies had become essential for effective governance and efficient use of public resources.

He observed that digital systems not only promote transparency and accountability but also improve administrative efficiency and service delivery. The Speaker also highlighted measures undertaken by the Provincial Assembly Secretariat to strengthen governance, administrative reforms, and institutional capacity building.

Commitment to Modernisation

Reaffirming the Assembly’s commitment to modernisation, Swati said the institution would continue to support initiatives aimed at promoting transparent, efficient, and technology-driven governance within the public sector. Secretary Provincial Assembly Syed Waqar Shah and Principal Secretary to the Speaker Mian Muhammad Sarir also attended the meeting.
